What does a website and SEO cost together?
A custom hand-coded build starts at $499 CAD one-time, then one flat monthly plan: $59 for Hosting & Care, $299 with the SEO work included, or $388 with SEO and the AI agents. Hosting sits inside those numbers rather than being billed on top. The build price is a starting rate and your fixed quote is agreed in writing before anything begins. The $299 plan applies to a site we built or one you already own.

Which of these is a one-time price, and which is monthly.
The four services above are separate pieces of work. Most clients start with one. This is how each is actually purchased.
| The service | How it is bought | What it costs |
|---|---|---|
| Web design | A one-time build, fixed price agreed in a written spec. | From $499 CAD one-time. |
| Web development | Part of the same build rather than a separate line item. | Inside the build price. |
| SEO | A monthly plan, month to month, on a site we built or one you already own. | $299/mo with hosting inside it. $388/mo with the AI agents as well. |
| Hosting and care on its own | A monthly plan without the search work. | $59/mo. |
| Marketing and ad creative | Project work, quoted on its own. We do not run media buying or brand campaigns. | Quoted per project. |
| The AI front desk | Bundled into the top plan. Never sold here as a separate line. | Inside $388/mo. Voice Receptionist +$199/mo on top. |
Every figure here is set on the pricing page and nowhere else. The plan runs alongside the build for its first year, which is what pays for the build starting at $499 rather than $999; the SEO and AI portions are month to month from day one.
Why is the website one payment and the SEO a monthly one?
Because they are different kinds of work. A build finishes. There is a specification, it either matches it or it does not, and when it matches it the job is done and the code is yours. That is a one-time price and it starts at $499.
Search work does not finish. Competitors publish, Google changes how it ranks things, your Business Profile drifts as hours and services change, and answer engines rewrite what they say about your trade. Charging once for something that has to keep happening would mean either doing it once or doing it at a loss.
The one thing worth knowing before you sign is that the plan runs alongside the build for its first year, and that year is what pays for the build being $499 rather than $999. The SEO and AI portions are month to month from the start, so the commitment is on the build price, not on the service.
Do you have to buy both?
No, and we would rather you did not buy the half you do not need. A build with the $59 Hosting & Care plan and nothing else is an ordinary engagement, not a consolation prize. Plenty of businesses take exactly that.
The $299 Hosting + SEO plan also applies to a site you already own, so the search work does not require buying a rebuild first. If your site is fine and the reason nobody is calling is a Google Business Profile nobody has touched in two years, that is the conversation to have.
Where we will push back is the other direction: paying for search work on a site that cannot convert what it already gets. If the pages load slowly, nothing asks the visitor to do anything, or the phone number is an image, more traffic mostly buys you a bigger number in an analytics dashboard. That is a scoping-call answer rather than an upsell.
What does the monthly SEO work actually consist of?
Four things, in roughly this order of effort. Technical and on-page work on the site itself: what each page targets, how it is structured, the schema underneath it, how fast it loads, what an AI answer engine can lift from it. Local search: the Google Business Profile, the categories, the services, the posts, the review replies, and the directory listings where your name, address and phone have to match exactly.
Then content, written against terms people actually search rather than terms that sound impressive, and against what the pages currently ranking are missing. And measurement: what moved, what did not, and what we are doing next month because of it.
What we will not attach to any of that is a prediction. Our Terms say plainly that we do not guarantee rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts or revenue, and nobody here is authorised to promise them, because the ranking systems belong to third parties who change them without telling anyone. What you get instead is the reporting, monthly, including the months where the honest answer is that it has not moved yet.

What people ask before they commission a site.
1What does a website and SEO actually cost?
A custom hand-coded build starts at $499 CAD one-time, then one flat monthly plan: $59 for Hosting & Care, $299 with the SEO work included, or $388 with SEO and the AI agents. Hosting sits inside those numbers rather than being billed on top. The build price is a starting rate and your written, fixed quote depends on the size and complexity of the site, agreed before anything begins. Every figure we charge is published on the pricing page.
2Is my website legally required to be accessible?
In Ontario it may well be. Ontario says that since January 2021 a business or non-profit with 50 or more employees must make its public website and the web content posted since January 2012 meet the WCAG 2.0 Level AA success criteria. Smaller organisations are not covered by that particular website rule. Rules elsewhere in Canada differ and we have not checked them for you, so read the Ontario source below and take your own advice.
3How is this different from Squarespace, Wix or a WordPress theme?
Those are good at getting something online quickly and they are a reasonable answer for plenty of businesses. What you trade away is the layer underneath: page speed, how much can break when a plugin updates itself, how far the markup can be shaped for search and AI answers, and whether you can take the site with you. We write the code, so those are decisions rather than whatever the platform happened to do.
4How long does SEO take to show anything?
Longer than anyone selling it wants to say. Technical fixes and on-page work can move things inside weeks, local and Maps visibility usually turns on reviews and a correct Business Profile more than on content, and competitive organic terms are a matter of months. Anyone naming a date is guessing, because the ranking system belongs to Google and not to us. What we will commit to is monthly reporting so you can see whether it is moving.
5Can you guarantee I will rank number one?
No, and nobody honestly can. Search engines, ad platforms and AI answer engines are run by third parties who change how they work without telling anyone, so no agency controls a position. Our own terms say plainly that we do not guarantee rankings, traffic volumes, lead counts or revenue, and that nobody here is authorised to promise them. What we do control is the work: the build, the technical foundation, the Business Profile and the reporting.
6Do I have to take the marketing and ad creative as well?
No. The four services on this page are separate pieces of work and most clients start with one. A build with the $59 plan and nothing else is a perfectly normal engagement. SEO is the $299 plan and is a decision you can make later. Ad creative and content are project work quoted on their own. We would rather sell you the piece that is actually your bottleneck than a bundle that looks tidier on an invoice.
7What if I already have a website and I like it?
Then keep it. The $299 Hosting + SEO plan applies to a site we built or one you already own, so the search work does not require buying a rebuild first. What we will tell you honestly is when the existing site is the reason the SEO will not pay off, which is usually about speed, structure or the fact that nothing on it asks the visitor to do anything. That is a conversation on the scoping call, not an upsell.
The accessibility answer above is a statement about the law, so here is where to check it rather than taking our word for it.
- Government of Ontario, How to make websites accessible
Read 2026-08-25. Source of the 50-or-more-employees threshold, the January 1 2021 date, the January 1 2012 cut-off for the content it reaches, and the point that the obligation sits with whoever controls the site, directly or through a contractual relationship. The standard is WCAG 2.0 Level AA apart from two named success criteria, 1.2.4 live captions and 1.2.5 pre-recorded audio descriptions.
Leads sync natively to Follow Up Boss, and bookings land in Google Calendar or Outlook in real time. Running something else? That is a custom integration - scoped and quoted up front.
